What Does the Size of Bump on the Back of Your Skull Mean

So I found a bone sticking out centrally and on the back of my skull on holiday. I thought my skull was screwed up and thought it was something really serious lol.

Apparently it's normal though and males have it and girls don't and it's a sure fire way to find out someone's sex.

So yeah, girls do you really not have one, is there anything there instead? Guys assuming you have one, how big is it?

I should really go feel for lumps on people right now but it's late and it would freak people out.

Yeah it's normal. It was bugging me so one day I went to the doctor about it lol, and he assured me it was normal. Not sure about the male/female thing though, I'm male.

It's normal and both men and women have that little ridge at the back. The only difference between men and women and the shape their skulls is that women's eye sockets are rounder and the jaw isn't as heavy/ pronounced.

Yeah, it's your head. You'd be surprised how many people see their doctors thinking they have 'brain cancer'...

I bet every girl that reads this thread will instinctively feel the back of their head. :awesome:

That's your inion. And yes, females do have them.

Mines tiny. I feel so inadequate..

I'm going to compensate with a massive FOD.

Haha, that makes me feel better that i'm not the only fool.

I was in San Francisco when I first felt it and, after being dissuaded about going to see a GP asap in America, got my mum to ring my Grandma to book a doctors appointment as soon as I went back.

About the only thing I ever learned in Critical Thinking.

I have one too, found it about a year ago and thought it may have been a lymph node, which shows my medical knowledge

I don't feel anything?? :O wait.. does that mean i'm female? :O or a shemale? OMG

Well, the only thing you ever learned in critical thinking was wrong. Sorry.

Females do have one, I'm pretty sure.

The only difference there is is that it varies in size from person to person.

Yep I have a nice lil bump.
I noticed this when looking at a skull at Uni so felt the need to look for it on mine.

:awesome:
